I remember the pain of my son learning to tie his shoe. He would get so frustrated and YELL, “I can’t do this”. We have all experienced times when we wanted to yell, “I can’t”. Maybe you are like me and have told your children to eliminate “I can’t” from their vocabulary.
There are times when “I can’t” is a true statement, there are things that we can’t do, YET.
To help you change your mindset about hard things add “yet” to the end of your sentence.
I can’t do this math problem, yet.
I can’t read this book, yet.
I can’t solve this problem, yet.
You can change any challenge into a goal by simply adding “yet” to the end. "I can’t", may be a true statement at this point in time but adding the word “yet” changes your thinking from a pessimistic view to an optimistic view of yourself.
Together we should make it a habit to add “yet” to “I can’t”
